OUR STORY AT 209 W JEFFERSON ST.
Building History
Originally built in 1810, 209 Events stands on ground rich with history and community legacy. The current structure, completed in 1870, served as the home of one of Kentucky’s oldest historically Black congregations, offering a place of worship, resilience, and fellowship for over a century. From its early roots through the early 1990s, the church was a cornerstone of spiritual and cultural life in Georgetown. Today, the thoughtfully renovated space honors that legacy—welcoming a new generation of gatherings while preserving the stories that have been held within its walls.
